Dr Carolyn Strange awarded 2012 Larry J. Hackman Research Fellowship
Wednesday 16 May 2012

Dr Carolyn Strange, Senior Fellow and Graduate Director at ANU's School of History, is the 2012 recipient of the Larry J. Hackman Research Fellowship, awarded by the New York State Archives and the New York State Archives Partnership Trust.

Her research project, Discretionary Justice in New York, from the Revolution to the Depression, was selected from a competitive field of research proposals for its potential to pioneer the study of executive clemency in the New York criminal justice system.

The Hackman Research Fellowship is a special award recognising and encouraging innovative, creative research through the use of records held in the New York State Archives.

Strange will undertake her research at the New York State Archives in the latter part of 2012.
